East Meets West Yoga Center

Ashley Stride

Ashley started taking yoga classes as a way to find inner peace and calmness in such a busy area. Little did she know that she would fall so deeply in love with yoga and it would become such a huge part of her life. Ashley has spent the last three years as a public school teacher, teaching art and working with children with special needs. She found that children respond to the energy that others are giving off and as a teacher, having a calm and focused mind is imperative when working in such a variable environment. The sense of calmness and focus that yoga brings to each person is a wonderful tool for creating a peaceful world. Ashley holds a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher Certification from East Meets West, a 95hr Registered Children’s Yoga Certification from Radiant Child Yoga, and a Masters in Art Education which includes a certification to teach PreK-12th grade Art. She has extensive experience working with children of all ages and abilities, including those with special needs. She has completed a course in Yoga for Children with ADHD & Autism and is taking courses toward an MEd in Special Education. She has taught as a school teacher in a wide range of educational environments, including Pre-K children with autism to high school art. In addition to teaching yoga, she is currently working as an ABA Therapist for children with autism. Ashley specializes in yoga for children and teens, including adaptive yoga for children with special needs.

"Children are super-sensitive, full-fledged people, with high potency antennae which record every vibration within their vicinity, completely and very deeply." ~Yogi Bhajan

"Yoga believes in transforming the individual before transforming the world. Whatever change we want to happen outside should happen within. If you walk in peace and express that peace in your very life, others will see you and learn something." ~Swami Satchidananda
