2017 Fall Prenatal Teacher Training Program

This 85-hour prenatal yoga teacher training is led by Diana Williams (MT, E-RYT 200, RPYT, RCYT) and Erin Scherger (E-RYT 200), and is intended for those interested in teaching prenatal yoga and those interested in learning more about prenatal yoga.

This prenatal yoga teacher training approaches the body first from the physical (physiological and anatomical) perspective and delves into how yoga can fully support the ever-changing prenatal body; mentally, emotionally, and physically strengthen and prepare the pregnant woman for labor and delivery; and aid in the recovery and transition of the postnatal body.

Students will learn:

Set up within an experiential environment, students will be able to integrate and apply their learnings through peer teaching, feedback from the lead teachers, and teaching community classes with actual prenatal yoga students. Outside of the weekend meetings, students will be required to observe 5 hours of prenatal yoga classes and complete readings and short assignments to reinforce learned topics.

A book list of required and recommended readings will be provided prior to the start of training.

● October 13, 14, and 15
● November 3, 4, and 5
● November 17, 18, and 19
● December 8 and 9

Meeting times:

● Fridays 6:30 – 8:30pm
● Saturdays 1 – 7pm (with community class 1:30 – 2:30pm)
● Sundays 1 – 7pm


There are two cost options available.
Option 1: $1400.00 paid in full by August 4
Option 2: $1550.00 after to be paid by program start date 9/29/17

This teacher training fulfills the standards set by Yoga Alliance as a recognized prenatal yoga teacher training program. In order to become a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) through Yoga Alliance, students will need to complete 30 hours of prenatal yoga teaching after the successful completion of this teacher training in addition to having completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training program recognized by Yoga Alliance.

About Diana Williams (MT, E-RYT 200, RPYT, RCYT): Diana’s underlying teaching philosophy is to empower the individual, and she hopes to leave her students inspired and encouraged after every class. Diana’s yogic training covers a breadth of styles including Baptiste power vinyasa, Deepak Chopra’s style of hatha yoga, kundalini, Bikram style hot yoga, integral yoga, and yin yoga. She has been leading 200 hour yoga teacher trainings, mentorship programs, and aerial yoga teacher trainings in Northern Virginia since 2014. In addition to yoga, Diana is trained to teach mat pilates, barre, aerial yoga, and the aerial arts. Diana has been teaching fitness classes since 2010 and holds a Masters of Teaching from the University of Virginia. Diana is a new mom and credits yoga for an easy pregnancy and smooth delivery.

About Erin Scherger (E-RYT 200): Erin began her alignment-based yoga practice while looking for an activity to lighten her spirit. She completed the Health Advantage Yoga Center’s Teacher Training Program and is also certified as an Elise Browning Miller Yoga for Scoliosis Trainer. After giving birth at home, she became a certified natural childbirth educator and doula, and still greatly enjoys working with women through their pregnancies into the postpartum period. Erin enjoys light-heartedly encouraging others to tune in, find their inner strength, and move mindfully.
