Kristy Rodriguez, RYT-200, teaches prenatal yoga at East Meets West Yoga Studio. Kristy’s first passion in life was dance. She studied ballet for 20 years until she found herself with an injury. This injury led her to a local yoga studio where she began practicing yoga in 2002. Since that time, yoga has been and continues to be an integral part of her daily life. “It is the accepting and non-judgmental nature of yoga that I love; practicing brings so much peace, clarity and balance to my life.” As a teacher of yoga, she strives to provide those same qualities for her students by creating a safe, nurturing and enjoyable class.
Along with the 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certification she received in 2006, Kristy has attended and assisted several trainings with Baron Baptiste. She received her second 200-Hour certification with Max Strom in 2015. She attended prenatal yoga training at Beloved Yoga Studio and received her Prenatal Yoga Teacher Certification at East Meets West Yoga Studio. Other places where Kristy expresses her love for yoga: Yoga In Schools, a Pittsburgh based non-profit bringing yoga into inner city schools, Africa Yoga Project, volunteering as a mentor to a yoga teacher in Kenya, The White House Lawn, assisting kids yoga at the Annual White House Easter Egg Roll, and in her living room “playing” yoga with her two young daughters.
