East Meets West Yoga Center

Kathryn Stevens

Kathryn Stevens has lived and practiced yoga in several countries including three years in India at yoga’s heart. She strives always to bring a “beginner’s mind” to yoga, and applies teachings from multiple traditions including Sivananda, Integral, Vinyasa Krama, and yin yoga to her classes. Kathryn first attended a yoga class in Ukraine in the late 1990s, seeking flexibility and balance with other activities including running and strength training, but has stayed with yoga for its positive mental and emotional aspects. She loves helping others to find the unexpected benefits of their own practice.

Kathryn has taught yogis of all levels and especially enjoyed teaching military personnel in Afghanistan. She loves working with beginners and helping everyone find the right adaptations and modifications to achieve their individual practice goals. Kathryn is certified at the 200 hour level in Integral Yoga level one, a balanced hatha yoga practice that blends meditation, physical postures, breathing, and deep relaxation. She has also completed advanced teacher training in Vinyasa Krama from a distinguished teacher and disciple of Krishnamacharya, whose teachings inspired the Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga lineages.
