Karen Andujar enjoys bringing enthusiasm and fun to her classes through humor and humility. A student first and teacher second, Karen encourages individuals to find balance between challenge and ease through breath and alignment. A lifelong athlete who never thought she would touch her toes, Karen is passionate about creating space, preventing injuries, and helping students understand the ‘why’ of a movement or pose. Karen’s unquenchable thirst for knowledge keeps her reading, taking workshops, learning from a variety of teachers, and practicing on her mat every day. A student of Dawn Curtis and Ladan Judge, she received her RYT200 from East Meets West and has also studied with Max Strom, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Elena Brower, and Rod Stryker. Karen found yoga in 2006 during a time of personal crisis and her life was forever transformed through the teachings and practices.
"Despite this discussion of things spiritual - I still think of myself as a very 'human' being. I have the full complement of weaknesses, fears, problems, ego, and sensuality. But I think this is why we're here - to work our way through all this, and, hopefully, come out a bit wiser and better for having gone through it all. . . . Watch out for each other. Love everyone and forgive everyone, including yourself. Forgive your anger. Forgive your guilt. Your shame. Your sadness. Embrace and open up your love, your joy, your truth, and most especially your heart." ~Jim Henson
