East Meets West Yoga Center

Claudia Quevedo

Harmander Kaur (Claudia Quevedo) discovered yoga when she moved to New York City in 2007.  The challenges of her new job (teaching youth in detention homes) were many but Harmander was able to find peace, strength and balance despite the struggles. A regular yoga practice gained much importance because it allowed her to open her heart and serve with joy and dedication.  Recognizing that she could uplift herself and others through yoga, Harmander decided to complete teacher training at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Neyyar Dam, India. The immersion in a yogic lifestyle allowed for growth in many aspects of her life.   That was only the beginning.
She continued practicing different styles of yoga including Jivamukti, Flow, Ying Yang, and Kundalini among others.   Claudia is RYT-200 certified, has completed YoKid Basic Kids’ Training and the Kundalini Yoga Level One Teacher Training.
The growth continues as she shares and teaches Yoga in Virginia.
Harmander brings a serene, calming style to her classes. In addition to thoroughly enjoying teaching Yoga to adults and children, Claudia currently works for a non-profit and tutors students in math and Spanish.  Harmander is originally from La Paz, Bolivia. She enjoys dancing, traveling, and connecting with people of all backgrounds and walks of life.
