East Meets West Yoga Center

Claudia Crowder

In 1998 Claudia’s first yoga experience was an emotional one and that led her to begin exploring the practice in earnest. In 2008 she completed a 200 hour holistic yoga teacher training at Pure Prana in Alexandria, VA. From there she began teaching regularly in addition to her job at MOM’s Organic Market. Her passion for food and health began pointing down the path of Ayurveda and in 2015 she found the Himalayan Institute and the lovely study of Ayurveda. In 2017 she became a NAMA certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. She is currently pursuing the path of becoming an Ayurveda Yoga Therapist and is completing her 500 hour yoga training at the Himalayan Institute. She will be a life-long student of Yoga and Ayurveda and feels fortunate to have studied with renowned teachers such as Dr. Lad, Rolf Sovik and Shari Friedrichsen. She hopes that the knowledge of the practices flow through her and looks forward to sharing all she can with those in the community.

"Healing in its fullest sense requires looking into our heart and expanding our awareness of who we are. " ~ Dr. Mitchell Gaynor
